Denomination of services rendered: Delivery, adjustment and commissioning of program and technical equipment complex for establishment of an integrated informational network at the «Kryvorozhstal» Metallurgical works including replacement of the ES computers / electronic machines fleet

Date of the system launching: October of 1997

Brief performance specifications of the System and the List of tasks fulfilled:

• The main backbone line – an optical fiber communication cable line – was laid throughout the OASUP buildings line – plant management, to the rolling mills (section rolling mill Nr. 2) as well as to the Chief metallurgist’s administration.

• Assembly of the distributive subsystem and the 5th category workplace subsystems on the base of a foil-clad twisted pair cable (FTP);

• HP9000 servers hookup, HP UX operational system tuning and adjustment;

• Connection of the network-forming equipment (CISCO router and switchboards, Hewlett-Packard concentrators) to the main backbone line as well as to the allotted and commuted lines (CISCO access server, Motorola and RAD modems) was accomplished, hardware adjustment, contact establishment between the mills;

• 450 new clients were linked to the network with a simultaneous provision of an access for all the existing network users (more than 700 altogether);

• Software tuning and adjustment with the aim of the network function monitoring;

The basic hard- and software used in course of the System development and installation

• Hardware produced by these firms was used: CISCO, Hewlett-Packard, Data General, RAD, Best Power, Rittal, IBM, Wyse, Wavetek, Motorola.

• Software installed is made by: Oracle; HP UX; CiscoWorks; HP Open View; Novell ManageWise; SCO UNIXWARE;

• The structured cable system applied: Alcatel.
