Project name: Implementation of inventory system for Banknote-Mint of National
Bank of Ukraine using bar code technology
Project deadline: September 1997.
Major hardware and software, used for development and System installation:
- Accountant workplaces — IBM compatible, portable barcode terminal with CCD-scanner BHT-2000plus communication/recharging station by TOYOTA/DENSO, Master-B decoder by «STI», CCD scanner by TOYOTA/DENSO;
- Barcode equipment — TOYOTA/DENSO, STI, DATAMAX;
- Software — Codesoft by Teqnicues Avancees;
- specialised software — developed by INT specialists and the National Bank of Ukraine.
Brief description
Each accounting object sticks with a barcode label with the individual unique number. Paper barcode labels were printed in INT using DATAMAX Prodigy MAX barcode label printer and DATAMAX materials while metal labels was done using materials from Express (U.S.). In parallel information on presence of accounting objects within each division was registered in PC, and using of the portable terminal for each object was bolted with a respective bar code. Information exchange between PC and portable terminal was done through communication/recharging station. After introductory stage it is sufficient just to read bar codes from all objects sitting in the given division to obtain complete inventory picture. System automatically analyses received information and gives out a result on the screen of portable terminal.
System provides:
- identification and registration of inventory objects;
- automatic transfer of inventory data to data base from the portable terminal using communication/recharging station;
- automatic analysis of inventory data in connection with a certain room and totals output to the screen of portable terminal;
- creation of the accounting reports.
