Project name: Implementation of mailing registration system using bar code
technology.
Project deadline: August 1995.
Major hardware and software, used for development and System installation:
- hardware — thermo-transfer printers, labels and tape for the thermo-transfer printing from DATAMAX (USA), BARMAN portable terminal with the light pen AXIOME (Switzerland);
- software — Codesoft by Techniques Avancees for printer control;
- specialised software — developed by Courier Mail specialists.
Technology in brief
At the mailing registration it sticks with unique bar code, to be read each time mailing comes in/out. Thereby mailing route easily and effectively tracked.
System provides
- exact identification and automatic registration of mailings;
- automatic tracking of each mailing;
- automatic transfer of information on mailing acceptance and departure to the database.
