Applications
FastHub 116T supports sixteen 100BaseT ports in a fixed, unmanaged configuration. A
typical application would be a company delivering the lowest-cost 100-Mbps performance to
a group of up to 16 desktops and servers. Optionally, the 16th port can be used to connect
to a 100-Mbps switch port. The customer does not need management to the port level and is
unwilling to pay a premium for it.

Applications
The FastHub 216T supports sixteen 100BaseT ports in a fixed, managed configuration. A
typical application would be delivering low-cost 100-Mbps performance
to a group of up to 16 servers or users. Optionally, the 16th port can be used to connect
to a 100-Mbps switch or router port.
Fast Hub 300
- Standards-based 100-megabits-per-second (Mbps) performance — High-speed network performance, using standards-based Fast Ethernet technology, reduces network congestion and delivers ten times the performance of 10BaseT hubs, while ensuring interoperability with 100BaseT devices from multiple vendors.
- Configuration flexibility — Two base units are available, one with 16 100BaseTX ports and one with 15 100BaseTX ports and one 100BaseFX port. Each base unit has two expansion slots for the addition of both management and 16 more ports, resulting in a total of 32 managed ports within a single unit.
- Scalability — The FastHub 300 Series design easily expands the network to serve more users. Up to four base units can be stacked, creating a single logical repeater of 128 ports. The FastHub 300 Series hubs are Class II repeaters, allowing two stacks to be directly interconnected to create a single collision domain of 254 ports. In addition, the FastHub 300 Series hubs support longer cable distances than Class I and other Class II repeaters for greater network topology flexibility.
- Manageability — An optional NMM provides comprehensive manageability and simplified troubleshooting on a per-port, per-hub, and per-stack basis using SNMP, Telnet, RMON, or an out-of-band VT100 menu interface. Only one management module is required to manage an entire stack of up to 128 ports.
- Resiliency — An RPS will be available as a future option to supply up to four units with redundant power. A second NMM can also be added to a stack for management redundancy.
- Cisco IOS integration — The FastHub 300 Series incorporates several important Cisco IOS software features such as embedded RMON, and support for TrafficDirectorTM and CiscoViewTM (including CDP) for consistent and integrated management and monitoring from the desktop to the backbone.
- Part of a total Cisco solution — With its integrated Cisco IOS software, the FastHub 300 Series is a key component of Cisco's comprehensive line of desktop-to-backbone Fast Ethernet solutions.
